The third annual Maidstone Fringe Festival proved bigger and better than ever as the sun shone over the bank holiday weekend.

Among the highlights were Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze and David Migden and the Dirty Words, who won the Harvest UK Battle of the Blues competition last month.
One of the festival organisers, Clive Austen, said: “There were some really high quality acts and some great performances.

"The majority of the acts on over the weekend were home grown. In this economic climate, it is quite a cheap thing for people to go to. There are quite a lot of acts I am keen to get back again.”

Although only in its third year, Mr Austen said people were already keeping the weekend free for next year.
