A 24-year-old West Malling man was today stable in hospital after being shot with what's believed to be shotgun.

Two people were arrested yesterday after the man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound. They are still being questioned today.

The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are investigating after the man was admitted with the chest injury, which is not thought to be life-threatening.

Detectives are searching a property in Arundel Street in Maidstone after the victim was helped into Maidstone Hospital with the injury earlier today.

Police now want to speak to the person who helped the man get to the hospital.
