A rush-hour crash caused long delays for motorists heading in and out of Maidstone this morning.

Two vehicles collided on the slip road for the M20 at junction 6, just off the Running Horse roundabout, at about 7.30am.

The London-bound entry road was closed for about half-an-hour while emergency services and Kent Highways crews attended.

The incident brought traffic to a standstill on Blue Bell Hill and caused tailbacks in Sandling Lane, Forstal Road and Royal Engineers Road.

Drivers were warned to expect delays of up to 35 minutes.
