Crews wearing breathing apparatus fought a fire in a dishwasher in Avery Drive, Larkfield

The flat was smoke damaged and a kitchen unit and worktops were damaged by the fire.

Firefighters were called to put out a dishwasher which caught fire in Larkfield last night.

The incident happened in a basement studio flat in Avery Drive at just before 9pm.

Two crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put the blaze out and a ventilation fan to clear smoke.
