Air Ambulance flies man with serious injuries to hospital after car overturns on Sittingbourne-bound A249

A motorist has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after the car he was travelling in overturned.

The accident happened on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway of the A249 just before the Stockbury roundabout just after 12.50pm today.

The road was closed to traffic but one lane was reopened shortly after. Both lanes were fully reopened at 3.15pm.

It’s understood the man was in the vehicle alone.

He suffered leg injuries and was taken to King's College Hospital in London.

No other cars were involved.
