Four hurt in A21 pile-up at Lamberhurst before car ploughs into woods near Scotney Castle roundabout

Four people have been hurt in a pile-up on the A21 at Lamberhurst - before another crash on the same stretch of road this morning.
Firefighters freed two women who were trapped in vehicles on the coast-bound carriageway at about 4.30pm yesterday.Police said four vehicles were involved in the crash and an Audi, Toyota and BMW needed to be recovered from the scene. A spokesman said four people suffered minor injuries and the road was reopened by 6.30pm.

Meanwhile, firefighters freed four people from a car that ploughed into woodland off the A21 at about 4.40am today.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the car was difficult to access off the road between the Scotney Castle roundabout and the old Little Chef.

Two crews had to cut away trees to reach the vehicle and release the four people using hydraulic cutting equipment.
