Woman seriously hurt in pile-up on A249 at Detling near Jade's Crossing that leaves others injured

A woman has been seriously hurt and a man has suffered a head injury in a three-car crash on the A249 at Detling this afternoon.

It happened on the coast-bound carriageway, close to Jade's Crossing near J7 of the M20, at about 4.45pm.

It is understood fire crews are also due to cut one person from the wreckage of their car.

Several people have been injured, including a female motorist who has serious injuries.

A man suffered a head injury, although this is not thought to be serious.

Ambulance crews, police and firefighters were all at the scene this afternoon.

One lane of the carriageway was closed and motorists were warned to expect delays.
