Motorists should expect delays on the south-bound carriageway of the M20 tonight.

A crash between an HGV and a car closed one of the three lanes of the motorway between Junctions 4 (Leybourne) and 5 (Aylesford).

Police advise drivers to approach with caution and expect severe delays.

Highways officials say the lane re-opened just before 5pm, but traffic remains heavy in the area.

Traffic is also very slow on the A228 Ashton Way between A20 London Road and M20 J4 as a result of tailbacks of cars trying to get on the motorway.
