Strictly Come Dancing dancer James Jordan criticised after Twitter comments

Former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan has been criticised after a sweary Tweet in which he insulted two of this year's contestants.

The dancer, who lives near Maidstone with wife Ola, made the controversial comments after watching the elimination show on BBC1 last night.

Brian Conley became the fourth celebrity to be voted out of the competition after a dramatic dance-off in which the comedian forgot his routine.

He was up against chef Simon Rimmer, after both failed to impress with their performances the previous evening.

Despite the Sunday Brunch host proceeding to fall over in front of the judges, the panel decided to send Brian home.

Following the show, James, who was born and brought up in Medway took to Twitter to say: "Just watched the dance off on Strictly and for me I would save Brian (more personality). Both s*** just depends what s*** you prefer the smell of."

But the dancer, who appeared on the hit BBC show between 2006 and 2013, received a backlash, with scores of angry replies from fans who branded him "rude", "nasty" and bitter".

Lisa Phillips said: "Jealous much! Not being a part of Strictly is making you a bitter person. Get over yourself, it's not very professional putting people down!"

Lynne Talbott told the star: "I respect you know a lot about ballroom but I think you are very bitter and this comment is uncalled for."

Judith Aris added: "I've followed you for years. If it wasn't for those "s***" people putting themselves out there, no 1 would know who you are."

He later replied: "Just thought it was a good line, no malice intended."

The dancer, who is known for being outspoken, has previously claimed he and Anton Du Beke were the only professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing with personality, while the other professionals were “beige”.
