02 December 2013
by Claire McWethy

A bomb disposal squad descended on a Maidstone street this morning after a call from a resident about military items.

Experts were sent to Pope Street at just after 11.40am after a man raised the alarm about plastic explosive materials at the house.

A bomb disposal team visited the property to examine the military memorabilia - and remained at the scene this afternoon - along with police officers.
