Man dragged down road in East Malling on bonnet of car after being hit outside pub

Police are searching for witnesses after a man was hit by a car and carried on the bonnet for more than 100 yards.

It happened at around 11am yesterday in New Road, East Malling.

The car was driven out of a pub car park with the 36-year-old victim hanging on the bonnet.

It is thought it was driven at least 100 yards down the road before he managed to get off without any serious injury. The vehicle then drove off in the Larkfield direction.

A 36-year-old woman was later arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail until Sunday, January 12.

Officers are hoping people attending a nearby church service might have seen what happened.

Witnesses are urged to phone DC Wendy Thatcher, at Tonbridge police station, on 01732 379228, quoting crime reference YY/24002/13, or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
