The Hengist burglary: Coxheath man charged after allegedly causing £48,000 of damage at Aylesford restaurant

A man is in police custody in connection with a restaurant burglary which caused £48,000 of damage.

Daniel Pope, of Huntingdon Road, Coxheath is accused of stealing a bottle of vodka and causing criminal damage to the bar and kitchen of the Hengist restaurant in High Street, Aylesford, on May 3.

He was arrested in connection with the burglary last Monday.

He has been charged with burglary, theft of a bottle of vodka and criminal damage.

The 38-year-old has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on July 3.
