Car crash outside Lockmeadow Complex in Maidstone.

A car crashed outside Maidstone's Lockmeadow complex in the early hours of this morning.

Kent Police were called at 5.40am to reports of a single vehicle collision at the Barker Road site.

A black VW Golf left the road, mounted the pavement and hit a lampost.

Staff from Lockmeadow who heard the commotion ran out and tried to help.

Police attended the scene and spoke to the owner of the vehicle. Officers remained on scene at 7am but have now left.

No injuries were reported.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service also attended and the vehicle owner has arranged recovery.
