M20 lane closure at Maidstone following car fire

One lane of the M20 has been shut due to a car fire between junction seven (Maidstone) and eight (Hollingbourne).

Both road policing units and firefighters are on the scene of the fire after the car caught alight at around 5.30pm.

The car is currently in the hard shoulder on the London-bound carriageway and all lanes have now been reopened.

Normal traffic conditions are expected to resume by 7.15pm.

Motorists on the M20 London-bound were also affected by a two-vehicle crash at junction 3, for the M20 and A20 Swanley Interchange.

It happened at 6.40pm.
