Car fire spreads to motorhome in Rochester Road, Burham

A fire which destroyed a car and a motorhome is being treated as suspicious.

Two engines were sent to Rochester Road, in Burham at 9.24pm last night and they were at the scene for around one hour and 20 minutes.

The car was set alight and the fire then spread to the nearby motorhome.

The owner of the motor home has posted an appeal online urging witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.

Jane Gilbert posted on the Keep Burham Connected Facebook page: "If anyone heard or saw anyone bragging about setting a car alight last night in Burham please come forward. The fire spead from the car to our motorhome."

Crews used a hose reel jet to deal with the fire.

No one is thought to have been injured.

Anyone with information about who started the fire is asked to contact Kent Police on 101 quoting incident number 28-1520.
