Car smashes into Shell petrol station sign on Blue Bell Hill

A car ploughed off the road and into a petrol station sign this morning.

Police were called to the Chatham-bound carriageway on the A229 Blue Bell Hill at 7.15am, to reports that a car had left the road.

The Ford Mondeo smashed into a sign at the Shell garage, causing part of it to shatter.

No other vehicles were involved.

The car was later recovered and the driver taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.
