Van and car collide on coast-bound M20 between junction 5 for Aylesford and 6 for Maidstone

A van and a car have been cleared from the coast-bound M20 following a collision this afternoon but long delays remain.

Kent Police were called to the crash between junction 5 for Aylesford and 6 for Maidstone, at 3.10pm and were forced to close one lane.

The fire and ambulance services were also called and it was not until 5.50pm that Kent Highways announced all three lanes had re-opened.

A separate accident is also reported to have happened on the feeder road that runs between junction 5 and 6.

Emergency services are also in attendance.

Kent Highways has asked drivers to approach with caution and use an alternative route where possible.
