Hit-and-run driver leaves cyclist badly injured on the A20 near Maidstone

A hit-and-run driver left a cyclist with serious injuries after a crash on the A20 near Maidstone.

The incident happened on Ashford Road near the junction with Roundwell shortly before 7pm on Monday. It involved a white flatbed truck which failed to stop and continued towards Hollingbourne.

The truck's nearside wing mirror came off at the scene.

Police and paramedics attended and the man was taken to hospital. His condition is not life-threatening.

Officers are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the truck immediately before, during or after the collision, or who have dashcam footage to get in contact.
