Delays due to car fire between J9 for Ashford/Faversham and J8 for Leeds Castle/Maidstone Services

Delays are clearing on the London-bound carriageway of the M20 after fire crews tackled a car fire between J9 for Ashford/Faversham and J8 for Leeds Castle/Maidstone Services.

Two fire engines used foam to extinguish the blaze and traffic was held. Oil has spilled over three lane, but all lanes are now open.

It is not known whether there are any injuries.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 12.16pm on Monday November 28 regarding a report of a car fire on the London-bound carriageway of the M20 between junctions 8 and 9.
