Maidstone: Drug dealers caught with trousers down after police pull over stolen hire car

Drug dealers were literally caught with their trousers down after officers pulled over a stolen hire car.

When police approached a BMW containing Ali Saeed and Michael Ajanaku, they found Ajanaku with his trousers half down, acting in an agitated state.

The pair were stopped by police in Styles Lane, Boxley, near Maidstone, on February 1.

The vehicle had been notified to police after it had not been returned to a company it had been hired from.

Both men were taken into custody for a strip search, where more than 50 wraps of heroin and cocaine were recovered, which had been secreted in Saeed’s body.

Further drugs were located within Ajanaku's underwear.

A search warrant executed at an address linked to Ajanaku then led to the discovery of customer tick lists, packaging for drugs and around £1,200 in cash was seized.

At Maidstone Crown Court both men pleaded guilty to charges of possessing heroin with intent to supply and possessing cocaine with intent to supply,

Saeed, 21 and formerly from Sutton Valence, Maidstone was sentenced to three years and six months imprisonment.

Ajanaku, 22 and formerly of Herald Walk, Dartford, was sentenced to three years and four months.

Investigating officer, detective constable Hayley Campbell said: "Saeed and Ajanaku had little choice but to plead guilty to the charges because they were caught red handed with significant quantities of drugs for sale.

"Text messages on phones belonging to Ajanaku also provided further evidence of a supply network.

"A significant amount of drugs destined for the streets of Kent have been seized and will now be destroyed."
