by Kent Messenger reporter

Emergency works will close a busy town centre route in Maidstone tonight.

Kent County Council announced this afternoon that motorists will not be able to turn right from Tonbridge Road into Terrace Road from 8pm.

Terrace Road links Tonbridge Road with London Road.

The route, which goes past the Premier Inn car park, will reopen at 5am tomorrow.

Diversion signs will be in place.
