Fallen tree in Farleigh Hill, Tovil between Church Street and Burial Ground Lane causes the road to be shut

Drivers are warned about a number of incidents causing delays on Maidstone's road.

There were queues in Bishops Way when a broken down car led to a lane being shut on the bridge system.

Delays of about 30 minutes were reported. It was removed by 9.15am but delays remained.

Kent Highways also warned of slow moving traffic in Wat Tyler Way and Sheals Crescent.

Windy weather also caused a headache for drivers in Tovil.

A large fallen tree led to Farleigh Hill being shut from Church Street to Burial Ground Lane.

A tree surgeon had removed the tree by 8.30am.

Yesterday the MET Office issued a warning over strong winds, with the UK battered by gales of up to 60mph.
