Tributes paid to Francis O'Sullivan who was killed in Sutton Valence pram race crash

Tributes are being paid today to the victim of a horrific pram race crash.

Francis O'Sullivan, 52, known as Titch, was seriously injured at the popular charity event in Sutton Valence on New Year's Day.

Mr O'Sullivan lost his fight for life at King's College Hospital in London.

Writing on Facebook, his sister Jeanette Gribben paid tribute to 'a great brother, dad and uncle.'

She added: "Love you always and forever in our thoughts. May you sleep tight and smile down on us. Sweet dreams. Love you forever."

Writing on this website, two other family members said he had lost his fight for life.

He was in a three-man crew wearing flying jackets whose trike, styled like a Spitfire, tipped on its side at around 12.30pm in front of crowds which had gathered in the High Street to watch the spectacle.

Each team had to complete two laps of the loop road in the village, including "pit stops" at the pubs along the way.

But, shortly after 12.30pm and during the second race, emergency services were called to Sutton Valence High Street after a man fell from one of the prams.

Kent Police confirmed today that Mr O'Sullivan had died.

A spokesman said officers have carried out enquiries into the incident and there are no suspicious circumstances.
