Fire crews tackled a Maidstone pub blaze for almost four hours on Saturday afternoon.

Six pumps arrived at The White Rabbit, in Sandling Road, at 3.30pm, after reports of smoke at the back of the building.

Teams wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to fight the flames, which broke out on the ground floor of the three-storey property.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue said 15% of the establishment was damaged.

Crews left the scene at about 7pm.

No one was injured during the incident.
