Around 40 fire fighters have been tackling a blaze at an oast house in West Malling.

The fire at the property, made up of several homes, is thought to have started in the ground floor kitchen of one of the houses, and spread to nearby homes through an inter-connecting roof space.

The buildings in Lavenders Road were evacuated, and no-one was hurt.

At its height, six fire engines helped put out the fire, together with a height vehicle, a water unit and specialist equipment.

The cause of the fire is not known.
