Maidstone: Flooded drain forces lane closures on the A20 Broadway

The A20 Broadway is partially flooded at the bottom of Rocky Hill, Maidstone after a blocked drain.

The water, which is several inches deep has forced traffic heading town Tonbridge Road and London Road to slow to a crawl and water has been seen pouring into the nearby subway.

The situation for pedestrians isn't much better with floodwater pouring into the crossing next to Maidstone Crown Court.

Residents in Hillary Road have also said their road has become partially flooded because of a blocked drain.

Rebecca Golding said: "Maybe if we saw the street cleaners out every day cleaning our streets and drains, we wouldn't be in this ridiculous situation!"
