Suspected cannabis chocolate bars seized in West Malling police search

Butane gas canisters being used to manufacturer cannabis products including chocolate bars have been seized during a police search.

At least a dozen home-made chocolate bars believed to be made from ingredients from cannabis were taken away for forensic analysis following the search of a house in Harvest Ridge, Leybourne on Friday, March 16.

Police officers also found more than £1,500 in cash, raw cannabis, substances suspected to include cocaine, and 50 cannisters of the highly flammable gas that are though to have been used in the creation of a cannabis products referred to as 'cannabis oil, wax, or shatter.

A 39-year-old man was arrested and later released, pending further investigation.

Sergeant Andy Miller said: "Like any illegal drug, cannabis produced in this form is likely to pose a number of dangers to anyone who consumes it. There is also a real and immediate danger to those who may attempt to produce it. Butane gas is highly flammable and when used illegally and inappropriately poses huge risks, including that of explosion."
