Appeal to find Monique Dwyer who absconded from East Sutton Park prison in Sutton Valence in 2006

Police are appealing for information to help track down a killer who went on the run almost a decade ago.

Monique Dwyer went missing from East Sutton Park open prison in Sutton Valence - where she had three and a half months left on a term imposed in 2004 for manslaughter - in September 2006.

It is believed Dwyer, now 30, stole Franklin King's Mercedes Benz at a petrol station in Essex before driving off.

Mr King is then said to have ran after the car and clung to the bonnet in an attempt to stop her but was thrown into the road and later died in hospital.

Dwyer has now been added to Kent Police's most wanted list as part of a drive to include historic cases.

A spokesman confirmed that a full investigation was held at the time of her escape.

It is not clear whether a media appeal was launched at the time.

She is known to have links to the county as well as Essex and London.
