A man punched and kicked his wife in a vicious attack in Mote Park at the weekend.

Aurimas Dzervus was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning after his partner was able to scramble out of the popular park and alert a passing police car.

Appearing at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court today the 22-year-old, of Boxley Road, admitted punching her in the face and repeatedly kicking her on the floor but denied dragging her towards a dark spot, instead claiming he was carrying her out of the park.

Dzervus was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, August 23, for a Newton hearing to debate facts of the case.
