Army truck overturns on M20 between J6 and J7 London bound

An army truck has overturned after a crash on the M20 this afternoon.

It happened just before 4pm on the London-bound carriageway between J7 for Maidstone and J6 for Aylesford.

Police, two fire engines and a water carrier were sent to the scene.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the vehicle was smoking but not reported to be ablaze.

Lanes one and two were closed while the vehicle was recovered and drivers.

A spokesman for police said: "Officers are currently at the scene where no injuries have been reported."

An army spokesman confirmed a light armoured personnel carrier was involved.

At 7.13pm Highways England said the vehicle was back on its wheels and all lanes were open just before 8pm.
