Kent Police inspector accused of accessing porn from work computers

A Kent Police inspector faces a misconduct panel accused of using work computers to access porn sites... again.

The officer, who has not been named by the force, is alleged to have accessed pornographic material more than 2,000 times in nine months and searched for terms including "huge boobs", “diora baird nude” and “michaela tabb hot”.

The sites included fabswingers.com and xvideos.com and accessing them is alleged to have had no policing purpose.

Diora Baird is an actress while Michaela Tabb is a Scottish snooker and pool referee.

'Inspector A', who earns £41,000 a year, faces 19 allegations and in 2008 was issued formal written advice for using the force's computers to access sexual material.

He is also accused of going on social media and sports sites, watching football, sending personal emails and printing off material while on duty.

The officer's alleged actions "took a significant period of time both on duty and, on some occasions, off it and would have distracted you from your duties."

The force says if proven his actions breached the four policy clauses and therefore amount to gross misconduct.

The pages were accessed from a shared office and would have taken a significant amount of time out of the officer's day.

The inspector will face a misconduct panel at Kent Police headquarters, in Sutton Road, Maidstone, next Thursday.

A full range of sanctions, including dismissal, are available.
