Car bursts into flames on M20 between Leeds Castle at Maidstone and Ashford

This is the moment a car erupted into flames on the M20 in Kent this afternoon.

Thick smoke billowed from the vehicle as it was engulfed in fire on the coast-bound carriageway at about 4pm.

It led to the road being blocked between J8 for Leeds Castle and J9 for Ashford.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews were at the scene - as motorists were warned to expect delays.

It has been adding to delays caused by the travel chaos sparked by a major crash on the M26 earlier.
