A Maidstone man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering after police seized almost three tonnes of tobacco.
The 33-year-old was arrested in Southampton on Tuesday after a nearby house was raided.
The excise duty evaded on the tobacco found there is estimated to be around £560,000. Officers also seized £6,900 in cash.
The suspect has been released on bail until Sunday, July 27 while enquiries continue.
Following the raid four men and two women, of no fixed abode, were charged with evading tobacco duty.
A further man, from West Sussex, was also arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
