Lunsford Lane bridge tragedy 'not suspicious' say police

Police have confirmed a pedestrian killed on the M20 over the weekend was an 18-year-old man.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses after the teenager was struck by a lorry on the motorway near Lunsford Lane bridge in Larkfield, near Maidstone on Saturday night.

The identity of the deceased has not been revealed, though he is known to be from the area.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

The bridge crosses over the M20 and it is thought the pedestrian may have fallen from the bridge, before being struck by the vehicle.

Officers and paramedics were called at around 10.50pm on Saturday.

A spokesperson from Kent Police said: "Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen either the lorry on the M20 or the pedestrian on the Lunsford Lane bridge immediately before or during the collision, or who have dashcam footage to get in contact.
