Car crashes into the central reservation in the Sittingbourne-bound lane of the A249.

Long queues are building at Detling after a car crashed into the central reservation.

Firefighters cut a man out of his crumpled vehicle after the collision on the Sittingbourne-bound lane of the A249.

It happened just before 7.30am with the driver of the car being treated for slight injuries.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to the scene of the incident which involved a car and a tractor just before 7.30am this morning.

"The driver of the car was treated for slight injuries."

Police, fire crews and paramedics were at the scene and the road has since been reopened.

There are also queues on the M20 after an earlier accident. It happened in the London-bound carriageway at junction 4 for Leybourne but traffic was back to J8 for Leeds.
