Man dies after falling from M20 bridge near Aylesford

A man has been killed after falling from a bridge onto the busy M20 last night.

The 67-year-old plunged onto the coast-bound carriageway near J5 for Aylesford.

Kent Police said the man's death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman said his next-of-kin have been told about his death.

The motorway was shut for around five hours while crash investigators probed the scene.

Police were called to the scene at just after 9.30pm and closed the coast-bound carriageway.

Highways Agency staff diverted traffic while emergency services attended the incident.

The M20 was re-opened at around 2.30am after the scene was cleared.
