Motorbike crash victim on A26 near Wateringbury named locally as Ellis Overy

The man who died in a motorcycle crash on the A26 has been named locally as Ellis Overy.

Friends have paid tribute on social media to the "kind-hearted and caring" young man – who is believed to have died after the black Honda motorcycle he was riding collided with a stationary blue Skoda Fabia on the Tonbridge Road in Wateringbury yesterday morning.

Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene at about 12.40am.

A man in his 20s, believed to be Mr Overy, was declared dead at the scene.

Since news of the crash broke yesterday, friends have laid flowers in memory of Ellis and have taken to social media to express their sorrow.

"My best mate Ellis Overy, I've known you since preschool so near enough 18 years," wrote Harvey Reade on Facebook.

"You were the brother I never had and I will always love you and remember you for the amazing kind man you were, miss you forever see you in heaven."

Ollie C-P wrote: "Rest in piece Ellis Overy, such a good friend to all, always there for all his mate, kind hearted and caring, your [sic] going to be missed my brother and we are all thinking of you. Love you mate."

Many more paid tribute to the "kind-hearted" young man, who "had such a bright future ahead".

Dan Boswell posted: "Can't believe that I've only just discovered the news...Really hits home when you loose a friend and fellow biker; that we take so much for granted.

"Rest in Peace Ellis Overy, a top lad, down to earth and so so genuine. I'll never forget our first ride out, back in the 125cc days. Ride in paradise bro."

Laura Hitchin wrote: "Ellis Overy you will be extremely missed. We’ve had some good laughs and deep chats and you had such a bright future ahead of you.

"Rest in peace to one of the most down to earth, respectful and passionate human I’ve met in my life. Another angel in heaven."
