Maidstone: Lane on M20 slip road near Detling Hill blocked after vehicle sheds load

A lane on a slip road of the M20 has reopened after a large piece of metal has fell from a lorry.

The road was closed at the coastbound exit slip at the junction seven for the A249 Detling Hill.

Police were called to the scene of the incident 11.20am.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to a report of a machinery had fallen from a flatbed lorry causing an obstruction and damage to the road surface.

"Officers are currently at the scene but no injuries have been reported."

Engineers from KCC Highways attended to carry out repairs and make the road safe.

The road reopened at 1.50pm.
