Drivers faced delays this morning following a lorry fire, which blocked a motorway slip-road for several hours.

The blaze happened on the slip-road from the A20 Ashford Road to the M20 junction 8 roundabout for Leeds shortly before 7.30am.

Crews used breathing apparatus and put the fire out using hose reel jets and foam.

They left the scene at 8.05am.

The incident continued to cause delays throughout the morning between the Park Gate Inn and the motorway.

Lane one of two on the slip-road was closed while crews carried out resurfacing work.

It has now fully reopened.
