The family of a 74-year-old mum who was killed in a tragic motorway crash have paid tribute to her.

Susan Mellor, known by many as Sue, was involved in an accident on the junction 7 entry slip road of the London-bound M20 on Sunday.

A family spokesman said: "Mum's laughter touched so many people, leaving a smile in all of our hearts.

"Sue was the life and soul of the party and would want to be remembered laughing and dancing."

The 74-year-old, from Maidstone, was known by many around the town and also had lots of friends and family in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

Ms Mellor was driving a red Nissan Qashqai when the accident, which also involved a red Mercedes articulated lorry, happened just after 5am. The road was closed for more than five hours.

A 39-year-old man from the Czech Republic was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been bailed pending further inquiries until Sunday, March 6.

Susan leaves a son, two daughters, a brother and a sister.

A police spokesman added the family have tried to contact everyone she knew but anyone who wishes to attend the funeral is asked to make contact by emailing PC Steve Mace at 10868@kent.pnn.police.uk.
