Two people had to be rescued after a car overturned in Maidstone last night.

The pair were freed by firefighters when the vehicle flipped in Well Road at about 9.50pm.

Crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service used hydraulic cutting equipment to gain access so paramedics could give first aid.

A spokesman said they were then taken to hospital.

Firefighters were at the scene until around 11.35pm and helped Kent Police to clear the crash site.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
