Two people have been hit by a car in Headcorn this afternoon.

The crash happened at just after 1pm in the High Street and police, ambulance and the air ambulance were called.

But emergency service spokesmen said that when they attended it appeared the man and the woman had been hit at "a low speed," possibly by a car leaving a junction.

Ambulance crews were stood down en-route and the air ambulance is not believed to have ferried any casualties away.

The scene of the crash was cleared by 2pm.
