Police and fire fighters attended a car fire on Penenden Heath Road just after midnight.

Police officers discovered the car ablaze and called fire fighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service, who arrived at the scene at two minutes past 12.

One crew from Maidstone fire station extinguished the fire and left the scene 20 minutes later.

The owner has been contacted about the fire and its cause is not believed to be suspicious.
