Police appeal after boy hit by car in Hermitage Lane, Maidstone

Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was hit by a car.

Officers were called to the collision, involving a grey Toyota Aygo, in Hermitage Lane, Barming, at about 7pm last night.

It happened near to the junction with Oakapple Lane.

Officers were joined by crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service and the boy was treated for injuries that police are describing as serious.

A spokesperson from Secamb confirmed the boy, thought to be 10-years-old, was taken to the major trauma centre at King's College Hospital London.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now investigating.
