Police want to trace man after attack at pub

Police have released this image after a man was repeatedly punched and kicked to the head in an unprovoked attack in a pub's beer garden.

The 51-year-old man was attacked at the back of the Flying Dutchman pub in Southborough.

It happened between 8pm and 9pm on June 15, but police have just released this CCTV image.

It's believed the victim accidentally brushed past his attacker as he walked through the car park. The attacker then started to hit him.

The victim fell to the ground, and tried to pull himself onto a bench. The onslaught continued, despite repeated pleas to stop.

The offender is said to be white, aged 40 to 50 and with short greying hair.

He walked away after the attack, leaving his victim with bruising and swelling to his head and arms.

PC Katy Saunderssaid: "This was a sustained and cowardly attack on a man who was minding his own business and who was simply trying to get make his way into the pub garden.

"The victim is fortunate to have not suffered any serious injuries, and I would urge anyone who may recognise this man or who has any information about this crime to call us immediately."
