Maidstone footpath sealed off near hospital after woman attacked

An attempted robbery has left a woman injured after she was attacked with a blade.

Just after 2pm today the victim was walking down an alleyway which links Queens Road to Maidstone Hospital in Hermitage Lane.

Her assailant demanded her mobile phone before attacking her with a small blade, causing a minor slash wound to her shoulder.

Police were called at about 2.20pm and the path was cordoned off while officers investigated.

The woman was taken to hospital but her injury is not believed to be serious.
