Properties in Lamberhurst and Goudhurst are at risk of flooding.

The Environment Agency has released a flood warning and believes a forecast of heavy rain will lead to as much as 30mm falling.

Rainfall is due to become heavy later this afternoon with river levels on the nearby Teise expected to peak at 8.45pm.

The River Bourne between Hadlow and East Peckham has been issued a separate flood warning and is expected to peak at 9pm.

The warnings have been released early to give residents a chance to set up defences and prepare.

Residents living between Horsmonden and Yalding are also under threat.

Between 20 and 30mm of rain is expected to fall in the area, with river levels are expected to peak at 11pm.
