Thousands of items have already been donated to those affected, and a Maidstone company has decided to help.

Shine Removals will be taking trucks of items up to London over the coming days, and has already received hundreds of donations from the Kent public.

Paul Moon the owner of the Maidstone based company, explained why this is so important.

"It's just absolutely dreadful, these poor kids and families have been left with nothing, it's really awful," he said.

"We plan to do at least one run to London and back tomorrow, and then a trip a day over the weekend."
