Two crashes on the M20 during this morning's rush hour are causing long delays.

A car and a van collided on the London-bound carriageway, between junction 5 for Aylesford and 4 for Leybourne, just after 7am.

Police said no injuries were reported and Highways England said the accident has been moved onto the hard shoulder.

A second crash on the same stretch of road at 9.25am added to the traffic chaos with queues stretching back as far as junction 7 for Detling, near Maidstone.

Kent County Council's Highways department is warning drivers to approach with caution but said the delays are starting to clear.
