Police and householders searching residential roads for a missing three-year-old have found the child in his own house.

A large number of officers were called to Tarragon Road in Maidstone, at 7pm on Wednesday and joined residents in the hunt.

Neighbours told KentOnline they were looking for a missing child.

Fortunately however, the missing child had not gone far - he was found in his own house at about 7.15pm.

Kent Police said the call was a false alarm and there were no arrests and no suggestion of any criminal offences being committed.
